Our Team of Volunteers

Katy DavidsonKaty Davidson - Leader

Katy is founding leader of the Youth Food Movement UK having attended the Slow Food International Congress in Mexico where the YFM was first proposed.

She was Chair of Slow Food Cornwall for 4 years until the end of 2009. She is also a published journalist, PR, and Marketing specialist which has helped infinitely with instigating and growing the YFM UK.

Food culture and its impact on society is one of her leading passions. A fact she learnt recently from a fellow Slow Food member David Harding, that 40% of homes no longer have dining tables, has galvanised her belief in the work of YFM even further.

Katy loves Oysters, the occasional rare steak, fishing, shooting and having friends around her table for heated debate, silly talk, ideas that will change the world and good food!

After finishing a masters in philosophy, Jessica now works in a variety of charity-sector jobs and spends the rest of her time on independent academic research. Her main interest is in environmental aesthetics and domestic life.

As an avid baker and home chef, she maintains a food blog and is a member of the Daring Kitchen. She has worked on organic farms around Atlantic Canada and aspires to own her own farm and retreat centre.
